My backlog is either impressive or pathetic, depending on your point of view. The number of marquee, triple-A releases that have gone largely untouched (or even unwrapped) may stagger you, dear reader.
Games like Gears of War 2, Call of Duty 4, Resident Evil 5, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and BioShock have remained unfinished or almost totally unplayed by me. Sure, others have enjoyed their company and save files exist on my consoles for these games, but they're a handful of titles that are a blight on my video gaming career.
Shameful, really, considering my deep knowledge and familiarity with this generation's forgettables, like Haze and Too Human.
So I'll play at least one of these modern day classics this weekend, I just won't commit to one. Something must be done to rectify my ignorance of these much beloved games. Maybe I need a week off. For research.
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter doesn't expect a new hardware cycle to begin before 2013.
You can be sure this won't be the last PSP rumor to surface before E3, but the word going around now is that the so-called PSP Go! (or PSP2, or PSP Slide...) won't rely primarily on some internal memory for storage as previously speculated, but on something like Sony's new Memory Stick HG-Micro format,
which is about 40MB/s faster than a standard Memory Stick Duo card. That word apparently comes from some "sources close to PSP development",psp themes; that have spoken to PC World's Game On blog, who seem to also be suggesting that the Memory Sticks would effectively replace UMDs as a game delivery format, and not simply be used for downloaded games and whatnot. All of which certainly seems reasonable enough, even if it's still far from being anywhere close to official.
"We do not expect a "new" console in 2010 (other than the long-rumoured high definition Wii, which is likely to upgrade the Wii to current console technology)," he wrote in an industry newsletter.
"We do not expect the 'next' generation to begin before 2013, if at all," he added.
"We remain convinced that the publishers will resist the introduction of any video game hardware technology that requires a refresh of software, as the publishers have as yet to capitalise on the immense investments made in being competitive in the current cycle.
What are you playing this weekend? Any neglected library titles that desperately need some attention?
Today I'd like to eat a hamburger. Know why? It's Time for burgers, time for TELL US DAMMIT.
Here's how it works: We ask a question, you answer it. Simple and no strings attached! This isn't some marketing survey or whatever. It's an emotional investment in you. Yes, we're interested in knowing you,psp theme, reader person.
You probably know oodles about us - more than you even want to, we're sure. But, hey, we'd like to know about you. That way you won't be some faceless blob - and we might feel a tinge of guilt when we ban ya. Or not, because really we're incapable of human emotion.
